Flush & Brush
Repointing is the process of taking out and replacing the mortar (‘pointing’) from the face of masonry joint. Done properly, this helps exclude the weather and retard deterioration of the wall. Repointing is one of the most time-consuming yet crucial elements in building maintenance.
CA provide a quality solution to all your repointing needs with emphasis on consistency, performance, colour and strength. We repoint any external (or internal) brick or stone with mortar joints can be repointed. That may be stone or brick garden walls, chimneys, steps etc.
Complete repointing- Where a wall or an entire building must be Repointed our repointing techniques will meet high standards. To provide an area for the new mortar old mortar will be cleaned and raked from the joints. It is important to fully remove the old mortar so that the new mortar can adhere to the sides of the joint, not old crumbling mortar. New mortar joints will match the original in colour, size, shape, porosity, composition, and compressive strength.
Patch pointing– some of the masonry buildings only need a small amount of mortar repair to deteriorated mortar joints. There is no need to repoint a whole house if only one a section of a wall is affected Joints requiring repair will be chipped out and a matching new mortar will be applied. When completed, the masonry will have an even appearance and the patched areas will not be overly noticeable. Brick pointing all over Dublin area.
